TWL Group Ships 15 FAW J6F 8-Ton Fuel Trucks to Strengthen Nigeria’s Energy Supply Chain
Suizhou, China — TWL Group, a Chinese manufacturer specializing in industrial vehicles, has confirmed the shipment of 15 FAW J6F 4×2 fuel tanker trucks to Nigeria. The vehicles, designed for the safe transport of petroleum products, left the company’s production base in Suizhou this month and are expected to support fuel distribution networks across several Nigerian states.
Designed for Safety and Endurance
The trucks are built on the FAW J6F platform, featuring a single-row cabin with air conditioning to support driver comfort during long-distance hauls. Each unit is powered by a 180HP diesel engine that meets Euro VI standards, with a choice between Deutz and Weichai Power—both known for reliability in tropical and high-temperature climates.
The 8-speed manual transmission is paired with an exhaust brake, offering better control on uneven terrain and reducing wear on service brakes. Air brakes with front disc brakes and ABS come as standard, meeting international requirements for vehicles carrying hazardous materials.
A 340G welded rear axle with a 7-ton load capacity and a 3,900mm wheelbase provides stability when the tank is full. The electrical system operates on 24V with dual batteries and includes both electromagnetic and manual cut-off switches for added safety. A factory-fitted speed limiter ensures compliance with Nigerian regulations for dangerous goods transport.
Tank Construction Built for Tough Conditions
The tank body has a capacity of 9.8 cubic meters and is made from Q235B carbon steel. Wall thickness measures 4.2mm on the body and 4.5mm on the heads, offering resistance to impact and corrosion—essential for West African road conditions.
Standard equipment includes:
· Rear access ladder
· Manual guardrails
· Side-mounted toolbox
· Front and rear underrun protection
These features improve both safety during operation and ease of daily use.
Built-In Safety and Compliance
All 15 units are equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Lane Departure Warning (LDWS). GPS tracking and dual alert systems allow fleet operators to monitor vehicle movement and driver behavior in real time. These features are increasingly required by regulators and insurers in Nigeria’s downstream oil sector.
Each vehicle comes with:
· Chassis certificate
· Vehicle registration document
· Commercial invoice
These documents are intended to simplify customs clearance and registration once the trucks arrive in Nigeria.
Where They Will Be Used
The trucks are suited for a range of applications, including:
· Supplying petrol and diesel to retail filling stations
· Transporting fuel for industrial and construction use
· Supporting logistics for bulk storage depots
TWL Group offers optional modifications based on client needs, including hose reels, metering systems, or custom paint and branding.
