TWL Group Expands West African Presence with 26 FAW J6P 6x6 Heavy-Duty Trucks for Infrastructure and Logistics

CHINA – TWL Group, operating through its commercial vehicle division, has completed the shipment of 26 FAW J6P 6×6 heavy-duty trucks to markets across West Africa. Configured to withstand extreme operating conditions, this diverse fleet of specialized vehicles is set to bolster infrastructure development, energy logistics, and large-scale construction projects throughout the region.

The comprehensive order includes a variety of mission-specific units: six 20-cubic-meter fuel tankers (20,000L), seven 25-cubic-meter fuel tankers (25,000L), six 20-cubic-meter vacuum sewage trucks, six 12-ton crane trucks, and one 6×6 25,000-liter stainless steel vehicle dedicated to potable water transport. All units are mounted on the proven FAW J6P 6×6 chassis, a platform specifically selected for its ability to navigate the diverse and challenging terrains of West Africa, from arid desert tracks to rain-soaked construction zones.

Engineered for African Conditions: The FAW J6P 6x6 Platform

The foundation of this export order is the FAW J6P African Edition 6×6 chassis, recognized for its robust off-road mobility and structural integrity. Configured with left-hand drive and compliant with E2 emission standards, this chassis is built to perform in the most demanding environments.

Key specifications of the 6×6 chassis include:

· Engine: Powered by the Xichai CA6DM2-39E3F (390 HP) engine featuring built-in EGR, delivering the high torque output essential for hauling maximum loads over rough terrain.

· Transmission & Drivetrain: Equipped with a CA10TAX190F gearbox and a Zhuzhou Gear ZQC2000 transfer case with a spline output PTO, ensuring consistent and reliable all-wheel drive performance.

· Axles & Suspension: Built on an F7D-2020 front axle and a heavy-duty ф300 cast steel wheel reduction rear axle with automatic slack adjusters. The 9/12 leaf spring suspension and 4800+1450MM wheelbase provide stability and load distribution.

· Off-Road Tires: Fitted with 14.00R20 20-ply single tires, offering superior ground contact and traction on unstable surfaces.

· Desert-Optimized Components: Prepared for harsh climates with a desert air filter, aluminum radiator, 400L aluminum fuel tank, spark arresters, and full grounding straps for operational safety.

· Operator Focus: The new J6P African Edition cab is a full-floating tilting design with mechanical vibration-damping seats, engineered to reduce operator fatigue during extended operations in remote areas. The chassis also features a reinforced frame (30080(8+8)) for enhanced durability.

Customized Fleet for Diverse Operational Needs

TWL Group’s expertise in specialized vehicle customization is demonstrated through the tailored superstructures applied to each chassis:

Fuel Transport & Logistics
The order features twelve fuel transport units in two sizes (20,000L and 25,000L). These tanks are constructed with 5mm carbon steel bodies and heads, compartmentalized into 4 or 5 sections (5,000L each) with external volume markings. Each compartment includes aluminum manhole covers with breather valves, pneumatic bottom valves, and French-standard unloading interfaces. A complete aluminum pumping system with a domestic flow meter supports efficient fuel transfer.

Urban Sanitation & Management
Six 20-cubic-meter vacuum sewage trucks are included in the consignment, designed to address urban sanitation requirements and industrial waste management challenges.

Heavy-Duty Loading & Transport
The six crane trucks are outfitted with the XCMG SQS300 M-series dual-pump crane. This 12-ton capacity unit features a 4-section boom and hydraulic single-cylinder rear outriggers for enhanced stability during lifts. The accompanying cargo box measures 8,000×2,300x600mm, constructed with a heavy-duty floor (5mm bottom plate, 3mm side plates reinforced with 5mm checkered plate) on a straight-through auxiliary frame.

Strengthening West African Operations

“This shipment represents more than a vehicle delivery; it’s the implementation of tailored operational solutions for West Africa’s specific requirements,” stated a senior sales representative from TWL Group. “The FAW J6P 6×6 chassis provides the ideal foundation for this varied fleet, delivering the necessary durability and off-road capability for consistent performance in both desert and muddy conditions. Furthermore, the chassis modularity allowed us to integrate the diverse superstructures needed to address our client’s complete range of logistical tasks.”

With a strong emphasis on long-term operational support, the vehicles are equipped with extended-life filtration systems and robust components designed to maximize uptime in remote work sites. This export transaction represents a further step in TWL Group’s strategic initiative to expand its influence and service offerings within the African commercial vehicle sector.
